Happy Valentine’s Day (almost), my dear husband! If we weren’t trying to save our dollas, and if we had many many more dollas to begin with, this would be my gift to you. A lovely camera for my lovely, creative artist of a man. And it’s (Hermes!) orange!
Your eye for beauty and your ambition to make it happen inspire me every day, P.
this one goes out to my girl, Meg, at http://2birds1blog.com. Tom Selleck was one of my first celeb crushes, so I feel you, girl.(via loscheiner, gagasthighs)
I think I may need to purchase these for my roommate’s birthday party.
Oh my lord!
Husb treated me to this Mason Pearson Hair Brush!
I have been lusting after a Mason Pearson for years and years. The English-made, natural boar bristle, original rubber brush is the ultimate in hair luxury. They are made mostly by hand on my favorite street in London (Bond!) and last pretty much forever.
This was such a thoughtful, awesome and impressive gift!
(Simon. Wow. Thank you. Thank you!)
So excited for Emily, who I’m pretty sure I’ve begun living vicariously through over the course of my first month of tumblring (those shoes! being petite! running!). Happy birthday to her!
On the Mason Pearson: my all time fav stylist (who moved away a couple of months before my wedding - the nerve!) gave the most luxurious blowouts with the help of this guy. So I splurged and bought one, thinking (so stupidly) that I’d be able to replicate the magnificence. Shock: I could not. After months of frustration (for some reason, boar bristles brushes are unweildy for me?), I threw it out.
$ wasting to the max.
Better luck to the birthday girl, who I’m pretty sure won’t end up similarly frazzled, by the looks of her enviably smooth coif!!
NudeNaked ankle breakers! Now…if that doesn’t sounds like a birthday shot, I don’t know what does!
Thanks Steph!
Happiest of birthdays to Em, who never fails to be a bright spot in my day.
And what better way to celebrate than with a springy, nude(!) ankle-breaker with a bow?
From wence have these lovelies come?? Anyone???
I’m a copycat and a blog slave (YoungHouseLove is super awesome!), and P is getting this for Valentine’s Day (along with some Apple cufflinks) (!), with some of our quotes:
01 a jill russell terrier
02 kerfluffle, hottei
03 i’m a bull
04 like a river going through
05 no bite!
06 to the moon
07 gold to me
08 feeling the warmth of the sun on their backs
09 i’m interested in this
10 i do
11 i went a little overboard
12 zombie jesus!
This is just a rough draft, as I am still WRACKING my brain to think of things that will keep P smiling all day after checking this out at work.
Gosh. I love that man.
My dad was in the Marine Corp when I was little, so I was raised to respect and love my country.
The Olympics has always been an EVENT for my family, and one is quickly labeled un-American should they opt to watch Lost over the games. Note to self.
I wonder what the patriotism-meter says about me critiquing the teams’ uniforms during Opening Ceremonies? As long as the US is deemed best dressed, as is affirmative with these chic RL numbers, I think I’m good…
Jimmy Eat World - A Praise Chorus
Are you going to live your life wondering,
Standing in the back, looking around?
Are you going to waste your time thinking
How you’ve grown up or how you missed out?
Things are never going be the way you want.
Where’s it going to get you acting serious?
Things are never going to be quite what you want;
Even at twenty-five you got to start sometime.
I’m on my feet,
I’m on the floor,
I’m good to go.
And all I need is just to hear a song I know.I wanna fall in love tonight.
this is exactly what i needed this afternoon.
I may or may not have rocked out to this in a fit of 19-year-old me-ness last night while doing my best to be a good wife (cleaning the kitchen, tending to the puppy, making dinner for my hubby to take to work on his long-long-long days). This song make me optimistic about being me.
Also, Jimmy Eat World holds a place in my heart for the all time worst concert I’ve ever been to. This peppy diddy betrays their bastardly-emo-mopey-in-real-life ways.
this is ben harper, when she believes.
i fully intend to have this be the first dance at our eventual wedding.
i’d say this is as close as we come to having “a song” together.
This makes me smile, as we danced to Gold to Me by Ben Harper for our first song (followed by Get You Alone by Thicke to get EVERYONE on the dancefloor!).
We may or may not dance to it in our home periodically as well…I think we’re overdue for this
okay, i tried but could not resist the second reblog. this is perfect. all of it.
I re-fall in love with this image each time I come across it. Keri Russell has been my style-idol since the early nineties, when I daydreamed about being on the Mickey Mouse Club with hair just like hers (resulting in a terrible spiral perm).
Some people stress eat. I am not one of those people.
I much prefer to stress shop.
I would like to introduce you to the newest addition to my collection of sky-high stilettos.
Elizabeth & James.
Kinda great, right?!
(And in case you are wondering….yes, they are wicked hard to walk in!)
Not even love…LUST…for these.
